Foundational workshops are for Pre and Tenured Faculty Members, Instructors, Sessional Instructors, Librarians, Administrative Staff, Post-Doctoral Fellows, and current Graduate Students at the University of Manitoba. Some workshops offered are also available to Manitoba Flexible Learning HUB partners.
These workshops are NOT eligible for credit in the GTP or TLC programs.

We are constantly evaluating how we deliver workshops during the coronavirus pandemic in accordance with UM health and safety policies. In-person Workshops
Please make note of the location when registering for in-person workshops. The location will be one of the following:
- Fort Garry Campus - Room 325, Education Building (71 Curry Place)
- Fort Garry Campus - Room 223, The Centre (65 Dafoe Road)
- Bannatyne Campus - Room A474, Chown Building (753 McDermot Avenue)
All in-person workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). We recommend bringing a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to get the most benefit from our workshops.
During the winter term, seating will be based on room capacity and will be processed in the order of registration. The minimum number of workshop participants needed to offer a workshop is 4 participants. If there are fewer than 4 participants, the workshop may be cancelled. You will receive notification from The Centre if the workshop is cancelled prior to or on the day of the workshop.
Online Workshops
Online workshops will be delivered through UM Learn using Zoom. You will be enrolled in the UM Learn course one day prior to the workshop. If you are accessing the workshop from a mobile device, such as a tablet or smartphone, some of the Zoom tools used in the session may not be available to you.
During the winter term, registration will be limited to 30 registrants and will be processed in the order of registration. The minimum number of workshop participants needed to offer a workshop is 4 participants. If there are fewer than 4 participants, the workshop may be cancelled. You will receive notification from The Centre if the workshop is cancelled prior to or on the day of the workshop.
To withdraw, please email Kimberlee Potter at least 24 hours prior to the workshop.
