Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) Instructor Portal Terms and Conditions
As a Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) Instructor you are committed to offering Fetal Health Surveillance Workshops based upon the Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance Program. The program has been developed by the Canadian Fetal Health Surveillance Steering Committee, aligns with SOGC’s FHS Clinical Practice Guideline and provides a national standardized approach to fetal health surveillance (FHS) education.
As a FHS Instructor you agree to:
Have your name, contact information and number of courses taught, shared with the Canadian Fetal Health Surveillance Steering Committee(C FHS SC) and your province/territories official C FHS SC representative.
- Offer and facilitate regular FHS Workshops (Fundamentals and Refresher) & ongoing initiatives (e.g.: tracing rounds, lunch & learn sessions etc.) in your facility/region as required in accordance with the Canadian FHS Instructor Program;
- Facilitate FHS Workshops that align with the established learning objectives and content, including offering learners an evaluation tool for your professional development and growth*;
- Retain records of teaching /workshop rosters – you may be asked to submit these to your provincial/regional FHS steering committee as evidence of workshop facilitation;
- Mentor and be a FHS resource to staff within your facility;
- Demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills and confidence to collaborate with inter-professional team members to build capacity and facilitate FHS Workshops;
- Network with other FHS instructors (provincially and nationally);
- Participate as a member of the national FHS Instructor Portal;
- Maintain active FHS Instructor status by facilitating a minimum of 3 FHS Workshops in 3 years; &
- Renew FHS Instructor access to the FHS Instructor Portal through payment and successful completion of the Fundamentals of FHS examination once every 3 years.
*Delivery of FHS Workshop content can be altered as needed, based on the learning needs of workshop participants and facilitation style of the instructor, as long as it meets the outlined objectives for the workshop (Fundamentals or Refresher) and remains consistent with the SOGC FHS Clinical Practice Guideline.
