The University of Regina’s Inspiring Leadership Forum is a premier leadership development event that is focused on women, and those who identify as women, in leadership. It's about leadership - the challenges we face, the strengths we possess, our resilience and compassion, and the common experiences that tie us together. This forum brings people together from Saskatchewan and beyond to hear the inspirational stories of internationally renowned leaders, to connect with others and, in so doing, support the development of future young leaders through the scholarships funded by this forum.

With everything that has happened in the world since our last Inspiring Leadership Forum, we realized that an in-person event would likely not be possible in 2021. Interest in topics related to women in leadership and gender equality have not gone away with the pandemic. In fact, conversations on these topics are more important than ever. And so, we are excited to host the (virtual) forum again this year.

University of Regina’s Inspiring Leadership Forum 2021: Virtual Edition presented by TD

The theme for this year is The Courage Within. This year’s event has been re-formatted to a half-day virtual event consisting of three, 30-minute keynote presentations from women with inspiring stories of strength, courage and determination including:

Survivor of and Advocate Against Human Trafficking

Suki Kim
Journalist and Award-winning Author Undercover in North Korea

Dr. Jen Welter
Trailblazer and Pioneer - First Female Coach in the National Football League (NFL)

Following each presentation, you'll have an opportunity to engage with the speakers and ask questions.

Individual tickets are only $75, with 100 per cent of the proceeds supporting a new four-year academic entrance award for students attending the University of Regina. The first scholarship will be awarded in the 2021 Fall semester.

Computer Setting Recommendations for a Great Virtual Experience

To ensure your best conference experience, please take special note of the following computer setting recommendations. We are using a virtual platform to present this year’s Inspiring Leadership Forum. Prior to the event, all registered participants will receive a secure web link to the event. To optimize your experience, we recommend the following computer settings. Please ensure you are comfortable with these settings before registering for the event.

Recommended: Use Google Chrome, as this browser provides the best functionality. Firefox also works. Safari is limited.
Recommended: Check that you have a stable internet connection.
Recommended: Disconnect from your VPN (if you have one) and remove any firewall restrictions. VPNs make streaming heavy video content difficult. Firewalls can prevent certain web applications from working properly.
Required: Allow access to your computer’s mic and camera for networking video chats.
Recommended: Give yourself ample time to log in for the event to ensure your settings are set properly. We recommend logging in at least 15 minutes before the event start time.

The easiest way to access the virtual platform for the Inspiring Leadership Forum event is via a personal device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.). We will be hosting a platform preview day with all attendees a few weeks before the event to enable you to test your settings, get assistance if needed, and limit any issues on the event day.
