Hackathons are focused events which bring together interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions to front-line healthcare problems.  We recruited hackers from all backgrounds and experiences, mentors, and judgesOur kick-off event was held at the University of Victoria where we presented the challenges posed by the BCRegMed Initiative, the Victoria Hand Project, and Island Health to the hackers and teams were created. The teams will have until the hacking weekend to think about their approach to challenges and to present them on Sunday. We will have a team of mentors who will answer questions about the challenges. The hackathon itself will take place at Fort Tectoria, September 28th-30th with the solutions being judged on Sunday with an awards ceremony to follow.
