HIST-2226: Modern Europe 1789-1914



We invite community members to join our Community Engagement Courses. As you immerse yourself in the course content of your choosing, you will have the opportunity to connect with both the course instructor and Nipissing students. There is no requirement to submit coursework, nor will you receive a grade for participating in the course. Students consider developments in European history over the span of the "long 19th century" from 1789-1914. Among the principal events examined are the French Revolution and its consequences, industrialization, the rise of nationalism, liberalism, socialism and Imperialism. Students gain a foundational understanding of the rise of European hegemony.
