Global Health, Justice and the Environment Conference
Wayne State University's Office of the Vice President for Research, in conjunction with the Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors (CURES), Healthy Urban Waters (HUW), Transformative Research in Urban Sustainability Training (T-RUST), the Graduate School, and the Global Health Alliance, is pleased to host the first annual Global Health, Justice and the Environment conference on September 10 – 11, 2019.
The conference will focus on the important priorities needed for responding to environmental factors that impact human health, as well as the justice needed to expand beyond access to health care that includes a focus on issues such as air pollution, chemical pollution, water quality, food and drug safety, public health, childhood health and many environmental factors causing health differences. Health justice may provide an important view for understanding environmental and resource struggles around the globe, and may offer opportunities to shape broader global processes. This conference will provide a framework for shaping the critical priorities needed for global health, justice and the environment.
The conference will be held at Wayne State’s Student Center Ballroom, and is open to all. The fee to attend this two-day conference is $25, and may be paid online or by check made out to Wayne State University and mailed to:
