For Rudolf Komorous: A 90th Birthday Celebration

School of Music faculty, alumni and special guests perform works by legendary Czech-Canadian composer, bassoonist, and teacher Rudolf Komorous, in celebration of his 90th birthday. Performers include Owen Underhill and Christopher Butterfield; Cathy Fern Lewis, voice; Hannah Craig, cello; Lanny Pollet, piccolo; Patricia Kostek, clarinet; Liam Hockley, bass clarinet; Alexandra Pohran Dawkins, oboe; Russell Bajer, English horn; and Katrina Russell, bassoon.

From 1971–1989 Rudolf Komorous taught composition and theory at UVic and later served as the School of Music’s Director. Many of his students went on to become successful composers and his music has made a major imprint on new music in Canada and beyond.

Admission is by donation. Donations accepted online and at the door.
