Composting at Home 2017

Welcome to Composting at Home program registration. This program helps Red Deer residents successfully turn their kitchen and yard waste into compost in their own yards.

It will take about 15 minutes to register. To participate in this program you must:

- Live in the city of Red Deer
- Not be successfully composting but want to learn how
- Attend a 2.5 hour workshop to learn to compost
- Commit to composting until at least June 2018
- Report on your results and experience as requested by The City until June 2018
- Have a ground-level outdoor space under your control where you can compost

If you need more information before making the commitment please visit or call 403-314-5894.

You will choose one workshop to attend. Workshops will be held a variety of weeknights and Saturdays between late March and the end of April at The City's Civic Yards, located close to Three Mile Bend

NOTE: This is not the Green Cart program, where The City picks up your organic waste with your garbage. The Green Cart program is anticipated to expand through the city in 2018, and is an excellent companion to back yard composting.
