Dear ACEC-SC Member , 

I’m Matt Gehman with Transystems.  I'm currently the 2019-2020 Secretary Treasurer of ACEC – SC as well as the Advocacy Committee Chair.  I’m writing as ACEC-SC is hosting a fundraising event at our second annual Oyster Roast in Charleston. Our Oyster Roast will be held at the Charleston Maritime Center  on March 26, 2020 starting at 4:00 p.m.

The mission of ACEC-SC is to advocate, advance and protect the business interests of the Engineering Firms, and the standards of the Engineering Profession in South Carolina. We are raising funds to assist  our Political Action Committee (PAC) which is the primary tool for political engagement at the state level.   Supported by engineering professionals who work for ACEC-SC member firms, the sole purpose of ACEC-SC/PAC is to elect candidates to the South Carolina House of Representatives and South Carolina Senate who support policies and legislation favorable to the engineering industry. ACEC-SC/PAC is overseen by the ACEC-SC/PAC Trustees who stay well informed on the South Carolina political arena and direct contributions appropriately.

Our Oyster Roast is expected to draw a great crowd and participating businesses will be prominently featured in our event program. 

Can you help us out with a donation of a product or service from your business because it will greatly help with funding our ACEC-SC/PAC? All donations are greatly appreciated. 

Your donation can be something as simple as a gift certificate to a business, an invitation to share lunch with you, a round of golf, or as large as a weekend at your vacation home or a fishing trip.

A sponsor and donation form for silent auction items is attached. Thank you for your consideration of our request to help with advocating for the engineering industry in South Carolina. By funding our PAC, ACEC-SC is able to support its member firms by maintaining a positive business environment for consulting engineers in South Carolina by active participation in the legislative process and by representing consulting engineers’ view to other interest groups.  

The Maritime Center has an impressive view of Charleston Harbor and there will be live music. 

$35 for Oysters, hot dogs, chili, beer and wine.

Parking is free after 6 PM.
